In the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don, Ukrainian citizens Yuriy Domanchuk and Vitaliy Skakun, accused of attempting to assassinate Vitaliy Bulyuk, the first deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, named their handler from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). It is reported by RIA Novosti.
At the hearing, testimonies from the interrogation of Ukrainians were read out, in which they stated that SBU Major Pavel Savitsky supplied them with explosives and weapons, and also carried out general coordination in preparing the attack. For his commission, the curator promised Domanchuk and Skakun assistance with moving to the territories controlled by Kyiv. They made an improvised explosive device (IED) from a MON-50 mine, stuffed it with explosive elements and planted it near the house where Bulyuk lived. Domanchuk’s cohabitant explained that the crime was committed out of nationalist convictions and a negative attitude towards Russia. On the afternoon of December 12, 2022, Bulyuk left the house and went to the car. At that moment, Domanchuk and Skakun remotely activated the IED. The official was injured.
