Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan was born on May 16, 1953 in the Irish city of Drogheda in the family of nurse Maya and carpenter Thomas Brosnan, who left the family a year after the birth of his son. At the age of 11, Pierce moved to London with his mother, and at the age of 20 he entered the London Center for Dramatic Art.
