Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan was born on May 16, 1953 in the Irish city of Drogheda in the family of nurse Maya and carpenter Thomas Brosnan, who left the family a year after the birth of his son. At the age of 11, Pierce moved to London with his mother, and at the age of 20 he entered the London Center for Dramatic Art.

“When I found acting or when acting found me, it was a release. It was a step into another life, ”he admitted in an interview.

After studying, he played in English theaters, starred in TV series, and in 1982 he moved to the USA. In 1986, he received an offer to play in the James Bond film “Sparks from the Eyes”, but the terms of the contract with the NBC television company did not allow him to accept the role.
