    In his speech at the opening ceremony, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the development of today’s world is facing many challenges.     Hun Sen said that in the process of regional economic integration in the past 30 years, ASEAN has deepened trade and investment liberalization in accordance with international law and the multilateral trading system, and built a single market and production base. ASEAN should pay more attention to new trends in the global trade pattern and respond to new challenges such as rising oil prices, high inflation, climate change, and the epidemic.

    Cambodian Minister of Commerce Pan Sosa said in his speech that, as the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2022, Cambodia will do its best to promote a sustainable, inclusive and resilient economic recovery in the post-pandemic era. Cambodia is committed to working closely with ASEAN and development partners to enable ASEAN to play a vital role in global trade, investment and supply chains through existing free trade agreements, particularly the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

    The ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting is an annual regular meeting of the economic ministers of the ten ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, to discuss the economic development of ASEAN. question.
