Representatives of the New Generation sect (an organization deemed undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation) were convicted in the Moscow Region. On July 18, Izvestia publishes the details of the criminal case.
The convicts left the courtroom in high spirits and even said hello to the camera. They will be released in three years and six months.
The so-called pastors, Nikolai Ulitin and Svyatoslav Yugov, became the defendants in the case. The investigation proved that they forced the associates to transfer property to the church, and most of the donations were sent to Ukrainian nationalists. In addition, adherents of the sect called for the overthrow of power.
According to the investigation, Yugov and Ulitin opened a “church” with their own laws and extremist teachings. A rehabilitation center was opened at the temple, where patients were treated for alcohol and drug addictions. Services were provided to those who rewrote their property to the sect.
When the organization was recognized as undesirable on the territory of Russia, law enforcement officers came to the creators of the cell with searches. First, they came to the senior bishop of the Chelyabinsk branch of the New Generation, Svyatoslav Yugov. His wife was with him at the time of his arrest.
Prohibited extremist literature was found in Yugov’s apartment. The same was found in the country house of Nikolai Ulitin in Krasnodar. In addition, a Ukrainian passport and currency were found on him.
The figurants were arrested, they refused to testify, but their connection with the sect was proved.
“The pastor is a priest, an ordinary man in a jacket. He begins to scream heart-rendingly and yell on religious topics. A bucket is launched along the rows. People put large banknotes in this bucket,” said Alexander Neveev, an expert on various sects. The “new generation” originated in Latvia and actively developed in Ukraine . The pastors participated in the Maidan events in 2014 and supported the protests in Belarus in August 2020. The curator of the Russian cells was the head of the Ukrainian wing, Aleksey Ledyaev. Now he is abroad.
The cell of the sect under the leadership of Ulitin and Yugov existed for several months, but during this time the creators managed to involve about a hundred people in it.
