Melinda French Gates, ex-wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, spoke about her feelings during the divorce and named the circumstances that helped her overcome difficulties. This reports New York Post.

“There were reasons why I just could not stay married. The strangest thing is that the COVID-19 pandemic gave me the privacy I needed to make a decision,” French Gates, 58, admitted and added that the separation process was “incredibly painful.”

Woman explained that it was especially difficult for her to work with her ex-husband at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation during the breakup. “I could cry at nine in the morning, and at ten I had to have a video conference with the person I was leaving and appear at it in my best form,” Gates said.

She added, that working at the Foundation during the pandemic helped her overcome the difficulties associated with the breakdown of her marriage. For example, Gates spoke with a woman whose father died from the effects of COVID-19, and a week later she was already at work.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda announced a divorce on May 3 2021 after 27 years of marriage. They met in 1987 when the woman worked at Microsoft. The couple got married in 1994.

It was previously reported that Bill Gates flirted and had romantic relationships with company employees during an affair and marriage with his ex-wife. The first case of Gates’s sexual relationship with one of the employees became known in 2019.
