The agenda of the Friday meeting of EU foreign ministers, held in Stockholm, included two main topics: “Russia‘s aggression against Ukraine” and “Relations between the EU and China.” At the same time, the geopolitical situation that had developed by the time the meeting began, in a sense, simplified the task for diplomats: it was possible to discuss two key issues in conjunction. On May 12, it became known that Li Hui, the special representative of the Chinese government to find a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis, will travel to Kyiv on Monday, and then visit Warsaw, Paris, Berlin and Moscow. In this regard, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, noted that the “defeat of Russia” would be beneficial for China, and suggested that we proceed from this premise in the future.
