Damage from a fire that occurred in a forest in the Vorotynsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region is estimated at 109 million rubles. Such data were reported in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

The fire occurred in August 2022. They could not cope with the fire for 21 days. The total fire area exceeded 12 thousand hectares. The fire affected the territory not only of the Nizhny Novgorod region, but also of Mari El.

During the extinguishing period, 156 people had to be evacuated from the Kuzmiyar Psychoneurological Dispensary and 19 children from the village of Kuzmiyar. They were taken to a social rehabilitation center for minors in the village of Krasnaya Gorka. There were no casualties.
