People’s Artist of Dagestan Magomedrasul Zavaev died at the age of 78. It is reported by “Sound Media” with reference to TASS.
“The musical community of Dagestan has suffered a heavy loss. The artist of the Dagestan State Philharmonic named after Muradov, People’s Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Magomedrasul Zavaev has passed away,” the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic reported. The head of the Ministry of Culture of Dagestan Zarema Butaeva expressed her condolences to the family and friends of the actor. The cause of Zavaev’s death is unknown. Magomedrasul Zavaev was born in 1945 in the village of Khadzhalmakhi. After school, he graduated from the Makhachkala College and the Astrakhan State Conservatory. In 1978, the artist began working at the Dagestan State Philharmonic named after Muradov. Among the roles of Zavaev are Elder Mahmud in Hasanov’s opera Khochbar, Aleko in Rachmaninov’s opera Aleko, Alpan and the Blacksmith in Huseynov’s opera Sharvili and many others.
