The water in the Don River in one of the districts of Rostov-on-Don turned bright colors – first red, then green. Local residents complained about the problem, writes Rise.
Residents of the city drew attention to the red water near the house on Beregovaya Street on June 20. The police and environmentalists arrived at the scene. The mayor’s office of the Russian city promised to fine the Don-Plast company, which produces cardboard packaging. She was accused of dumping food coloring into the river. The company denied involvement in the incident. “These are all unfounded accusations, now they are all being investigated. (…) This is all untrue, very unfair, ”they said. Today, local residents discovered that the water at the drain site has turned bright green. The local Ministry of Natural Resources assured that the new color is a special dye that should help find the leak. “Green water is not waste, it was yesterday that inspectors of the Ministry of Natural Resources used a special harmless dye uranine,” the department said. They explained that in the underground sewer it is impossible to detect the stuffing visually. Earlier in Anapa, the sea was painted in a poisonous green color. The reason for this was the flowering of cladophora – algae, actively growing on the territory of the resort in summer. Usually the plant begins to bloom in July, but this year the sea has acquired a characteristic shade earlier.
