On September 1, Order No. 808 of the Ministry of Education comes into force, containing new “exemplary” driving training programs – on the basis of this order, driving schools develop and approve their own programs. The main innovation is the redistribution of teaching hours in favor of training in urban environments. Previously, for example, when training for category B (passenger car) out of 56 hours allotted for practical training, 24 hours were allocated to the “site” and 32 hours to the “city”. Now the ratio is 18 and 38 hours respectively. The amendment was made at the initiative of the traffic police due to the fact that on April 1, 2021, a new unified exam was introduced in urban conditions.
Also in the exemplary programs, for the first time, driving instruction on highways was introduced. Training driving on high-speed roads, we recall, was previously prohibited, but then the State traffic inspectorate came to the conclusion that it is still necessary to adapt citizens to such traffic conditions. In 2020, the ban was first lifted in the SDA, now a mirror norm has been introduced into the order of the Ministry of Education.
