The current Turkish leader, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held a massive rally in Istanbul ahead of the country’s presidential election. The broadcast of the event was published on his Twitter account.
During his speech, Erdogan spoke about his plans, in particular, he promised citizens the construction of a transport corridor under the Bosphorus Strait as part of the “Big Istanbul Tunnel Project”. The President also added that after winning the elections, contrary to his tradition, he will make his first speech not in Ankara, but in Istanbul. About 1.7 million people came to the demonstration. “If the residents of Istanbul say yes to the elections, the issue [of electing the president] can be considered resolved,” the politician said after the rally. Earlier, Erdogan expressed confidence in his victory in the upcoming presidential elections in Turkey, which will be held on May 14. He pointed out that this is evidenced, among other things, by the results of sociological surveys.
