Regulated prices for natural gas for all categories of consumers – both households and industry – can increase by 8% from July 1, 2024.

The same indexation is planned to be carried out from July 1, 2025, follows from the proposals of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). The drafts of the relevant orders of the department on Friday, July 7, were posted on the portal of regulatory legal acts.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development of September 2022, the increase in gas tariffs was previously planned at the level of 7% – in July 2024. A similar price increase was expected in 2025, Interfax writes.

The last time the cost of gas was increased in Russia in December 2022 — by 8.5%. Tariff for consumers per 1 cu. m in the presence of gas heating is 6.42 rubles, in its absence – from 7.33 rubles. up to 8.92 rubles.

“The new wholesale gas prices will come into effect on July 1, 2024. Thus, their change will be planned and the first in a year and a half. The funds received will be directed to the social gasification of the regions and the construction of new gas pipelines for consumers.

This will support the implementation of repair and investment programs to reliably provide consumers with energy resources, which in turn will allow the provision of quality services to the population,” the FAS said.

In turn, the Ministry of Energy pointed out that “tariff indexation will allow maintaining a reliable supply of gas to the end consumer through the implementation of investment programs of companies.”

“Now more than 30% of Russian gas pipelines have been in operation for more than 40 years. In addition, tariff indexation will speed up the implementation of the social gasification program, which has become indefinite. Thanks to it, gas has already been brought to the borders of more than 600 thousand land plots,” the department commented. Citizens may be required to let public utilities into their apartments. Those who refuse to pay a fine Citizens will be obliged to let housing and communal services workers into apartments to install and maintain smart meters… 03 April 14:05

Let’s add that gas tariffs in Russia are conventionally divided into categories and price zones. “To establish the category, it is important who uses the gas: residents of private houses and apartments where gas is supplied, or industrial enterprises.

Price bands are set according to the principle of remoteness of a particular consumer from the region where gas is produced. The farther, the higher the rate.

Gas tariffs are set by regional authorities based on the all-Russian method. Tariffs change annually from July 1. Tariff growth cannot exceed the limit growth index determined by the Russian government, ”the Gazprom website explains.

Recall that the indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services was previously scheduled for July 1, 2023, but it was carried out earlier – from December 1, 2022.

According to a government decree, at the end of last year, the maximum price increase amounted to no more than 9% in all regions. The next tariff increase is expected no earlier than July 1, 2024.

In terms of spending, Romir respondents at the beginning of 2023 announced an increase in spending on housing and communal services, medicines and medical services, food, communications and the Internet, as well as household chemicals.
