In turn, the Ministry of Energy pointed out that “tariff indexation will allow maintaining a reliable supply of gas to the end consumer through the implementation of investment programs of companies.”
“Now more than 30% of Russian gas pipelines have been in operation for more than 40 years. Let’s add that gas tariffs in Russia are conventionally divided into categories and price zones. “To establish the category, it is important who uses the gas: residents of private houses and apartments where gas is supplied, or industrial enterprises.
Price bands are set according to the principle of remoteness of a particular consumer from the region where gas is produced. The farther, the higher the rate.
Gas tariffs are set by regional authorities based on the all-Russian method. Tariffs change annually from July 1. Tariff growth cannot exceed the limit growth index determined by the Russian government, ”the Gazprom website explains.
Recall that the indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services was previously scheduled for July 1, 2023, but it was carried out earlier – from December 1, 2022.
According to a government decree, at the end of last year, the maximum price increase amounted to no more than 9% in all regions. The next tariff increase is expected no earlier than July 1, 2024.
In terms of spending, Romir respondents at the beginning of 2023 announced an increase in spending on housing and communal services, medicines and medical services, food, communications and the Internet, as well as household chemicals.
