The Federal Security Service prevented the explosion of the car of the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, organized by the special services of Ukraine. The Center for Public Relations of the department informed about this.
“A citizen of Russia, born in 1988, was detained, who was recruited by the SBU and took a course in reconnaissance and subversive activities on the territory of Ukraine, including mine-explosive training,” the message says.
In June, an SBU agent arrived on the territory of Crimea and began preparing an assassination attempt, during which he planned to blow up the car of the head of the republic. He did not have time to “bring the criminal intent to the end”, so he was detained when he tried to take the explosive device from the hiding place.
What the detainee told during the interrogation
Criminal cases were initiated under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the suspect was taken into custody. He confessed to his deed, reports TASS.

In early May, the FSB announced the suppression of the activities of the intelligence network of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which planned a series of terrorist attacks, in Crimea. Its participants, in particular, prepared assassination attempts on Aksenov, as well as on the speaker of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, and the mayor of Yalta, Yanina Pavlenko. Then seven people were arrested.
Aksenov accepted the challenge
Aksenov thanked the FSB for preventing the assassination attempt and expressed confidence that the customers would be found. According to him, what happened testifies to the correctness of his actions, and he intends to stick to the chosen path.
“The enemies understand that in a different way with people like me, they will not resolve the issue. Therefore, the challenge is accepted, ”the official said.
Sergei Aksenov is 50 years old, he was born in 1972 in Balti, Moldavian SSR. He has been the head of Crimea since October 9, 2014.
Before the reunification of Crimea with Russia, Aksyonov was a deputy of the regional Supreme Council (2010-2014), in February 2014 he became chairman of the Council of Ministers of the republic.
From 2008 to 2014, Aksyonov was the leader of the all-Ukrainian party “Russian Unity”. In 2014, he headed the republic.
For violating the “territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine”, Aksyonov is under international sanctions from all EU countries, the USA, Great Britain and a number of other states.
