The head of the faction of the European Parliament – the European People’s Party (EPP) – Manfred Weber suggested that this winter a new wave of refugees will flood into Germany, like into all other European countries. He expressed this opinion in an interview with the newspaper Welt am Sonntag .
Thus, the politician predicted a new migration crisis in Germany in winter. He explained that this is due to damage to the energy infrastructure in Ukraine, which is why people move to EU countries. “I’m afraid that we will witness a dramatic winter in terms of flight [of people],” the head of the European Parliament faction believes.
In addition, the politician said that Germany was not prepared for such an outcome. “Germany is now, as if in a dream, moving towards a new migration crisis,” he concluded.
Earlier, political analyst Alexander Asafov said that a severe migration crisis could occur in Europe. He suggested that the migration crisis due to the wave of refugees could be worse than the 2015 crisis. Such a problem, in turn, will be superimposed on the energy and economic problems of the EU countries. “The issue of migration from Ukraine remains open due to the cold and energy problems,” the expert added. in proportion to the number of refugees that are now arriving from Ukraine. German hospitality is waning as “realization of the severity of the financial and social pressure from receiving migrants” comes.
