The Russian authorities did not extend the deal on the safe export of Ukrainian grain through humanitarian corridors in the Black Sea. They will be ready to return to the Istanbul agreements if that part of the previous agreements that dealt with unblocking the access of Russian agricultural products to world markets is implemented. The international community did not welcome such a decision, and Turkey, as the main architect of the Black Sea initiative, expressed the hope that the deal could be revived. The optimistic statements of the Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not prevent the growth of exchange prices for grain. However, experts make it clear that so far “price jumps are largely speculative.”
