Washington, Dec. 1 – International Monetary Fund (IMF) President Georgieva said on the 1st that due to the slowdown in some major economies, the global economic growth rate will drop to 2% in 2023. The following possibilities are increasing.
According to Agence France-Presse, Georgieva said at an international conference on the same day that some recent indicators show that the possibility of a further slowdown in the global economy next year is increasing, according to the IMF. In the latest forecast for global economic growth in 2023, the probability of growth falling below 2% has now risen to 25%. The IMF expects about a third of the world’s economies to shrink this year or next.
The IMF released the “World Economic Outlook Report” in October this year, predicting that the global economy will grow by 3.2% in 2022, and the global economic growth rate will further slow down to 2.7% in 2023. The IMF will release its next outlook report in January next year.
