Analysts of the AD Limited agency recorded a shortage of carcasses and broiler fillets in Russia, the Vedomosti newspaper writes about this.
The reason for the “physical shortage of volumes” of poultry meat is the production difficulties in the Belgorod region, which is a leader in this industry. From January to April 2023, the region accounted for 12.1 percent or 264.4 thousand tons of products. It is noted that the difficulties are associated with the supply of raw materials for growing chicken, as well as with logistics. In addition, among the reasons is the growth of exports, primarily to Saudi Arabia. In the first quarter of this year, Russia increased deliveries by four percent, to 86.2 thousand tons. Earlier, Russian business spoke about a record shortage of employees. Last April, 35 percent of Russian industrial enterprises faced a shortage of workers, which was a record since 1996.
