    In Tatarstan, a fire in a private house killed seven people, including four children

    In Tatarstan, a large family, including four children, died during a fire in a private house. This is reported by the portal “Tatar-Inform”.

    According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the first information about a fire in a house in the village of Saitovo, Tukaevsky district of the republic, was received on Sunday afternoon at 13.17. The fire spread over a log house over an area of ​​about 100 square meters. An hour later, the fire was extinguished by 43 firefighters, from the very beginning, emergency services reported casualties.

    An hour later, emergency services reported that the bodies of three dead were found under the rubble of the house. The regional prosecutor’s office began checking the incident.

    By 4 p.m., it became clear that there were more victims – first six were reported dead, then seven. Four of them are children born in 2016-2019.

    It turned out that a large family of eight people lived in the house, the police reported that the family was dysfunctional. The 28-year-old mother managed to get out of the burning house. The rest of the relatives died.

    On the video published by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, it can be seen that the house burned down almost completely, only charred walls remained from it.

    The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for Tatarstan said that in 2021 the house was equipped with autonomous smoke detectors. In November 2022, the batteries were replaced in them, and in February 2023 they were tested, which showed that the devices were in good order. Such smoke detectors are installed free of charge and without fail in all houses and apartments where large families live.

    According to Tatar-Inform, it was the surviving mother who told the arrived firefighters that there were three adults and four children in the house engulfed in flames. The deceased adults are the woman’s 55-year-old mother, brother and husband. And her four children, ages three to seven.

    Neighbors told reporters that the brother of the survivor returned home on the morning of June 18 from a night shift. According to eyewitnesses, the family was dysfunctional, adults had problems with alcohol. At the same time, they maintained normal relations with their neighbors. The deceased brother and husband of a 28-year-old woman worked.

    By Sunday evening, the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Tatarstan announced that it had opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence). Together with the prosecutor’s office, investigators are investigating the cause of the tragedy, as well as assessing compliance with the requirements of fire safety legislation and the work of guardianship authorities.
