As a result of a drunken quarrel, 63-year-old Sergei Vidyakin was taken to the Mariinsky hospital in serious condition. It is known that a man was beaten with a chessboard, breaking his head, tearing his ear and cutting his nose. Commenting on the incident, the press service of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg assured that the employees of the department were already investigating the circumstances of the incident. At the moment, a criminal case has been initiated under the article “Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. “During the audit, it was established that the night before in the club’s premises, after drinking alcohol together, a conflict arose between the victim and his colleague, during which the latter inflicted multiple injuries on his opponent,” the department said, adding that the suspect was detained. Earlier it was reported that an engineer and a teacher were convicted in Moscow for beating the master of sports in wrestling.
