In Ryazan, they plan to change the scheme of single-member constituencies in elections to the City Duma. The project was considered at a meeting of the committee for the development of local self-government, regulations and parliamentary ethics.
The representative body of local self-government approves the boundaries of districts once every 10 years.
Currently, there are 409,131 voters and 20 single-mandate constituencies in Ryazan. The average number of voters in the district is 20,456 people. It is clarified that the principle of equality was taken into account when forming the boundaries of the districts. Each constituency must constitute a single territory. Changes in the number of voters within 10% are allowed.
The committee decided to create a working group to discuss the boundaries of the districts and make proposals.
Elections to the Ryazan City Duma will be held in 2023.
