The fire in a two-story residential wooden house in the village of Tymovskoye was localized, there were no dead or injured. There is no threat of spread to neighboring buildings. The quenching is currently ongoing. This was reported to TASS in the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The fire occurred around midnight on Sunday Sakhalin time, the flames spread over the roof over an area of 400 sq.m. All residents were promptly evacuated.
According to the unified duty and dispatch service of the Tymovsky urban district, an explosion of household gas could have caused the fire. On Saturday, in the same village of Tymovskoye, an explosion occurred in a five-story apartment building, the ceilings of the corner entrance collapsed. Nine people died, four of them children. The house was not gasified. But, according to emergency services, a 20-liter gas cylinder could explode in one of the apartments.
