    Ivan Tomich, head of the Union of Ukrainian Peasantry, said that the cost of vegetables in Ukraine increased by 22 percent over the month. He spoke about this on the air of the Rada TV channel, which is broadcast on YouTube.

    According to the State Statistics Service, potato prices increased by 22 percent over the month, from UAH 9.9 ($0.2) to UAH 12 ($0.3) per kilogram; cabbage became more expensive by 21 percent – from 37.6 hryvnia ($1.02) to 45.6 hryvnia ($1.23); apples by 20 percent — from UAH 29.8 ($0.8) to UAH 35.8 ($0.9); the cost of carrots increased by 9 percent, from 54.7 hryvnia ($1.48) to 59.6 hryvnia ($1.61). In turn, the deputy head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, Denis Marchuk, warned that Ukrainians should expect an increase in prices for poultry meat and eggs. “The price and logistics for industrial production will be formed as a result of the formation of prices for electricity, so we will see a rise in prices for poultry meat and eggs, these positions can rise from 5 to 15 percent,” Marchuk concluded. Earlier in Ukraine warned of a significant increase in gasoline prices. Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko specified that the cost of fuel will increase by more than 20 percent.
