Employees of the Investigative Committee, with the support of police officers and colleagues from the FSB, detained in the Krasnodar Territory a suspect in the murder of Stanislav Rzhitsky, deputy head of the department for mobilization work of the Krasnodar administration.
Information about this was published by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia in its Telegram channel.
According to the department, a 64-year-old man (born in 1959) was detained. A pistol with a silencer was found on him. It was from this firearm, according to preliminary data, that Rzhitsky was killed. The suspect is under investigation. Experts are going to compare the bullets and cartridge cases from the murder scene and those found during the arrest.
Later, the investigators named the detainee’s name – Sergey Denisenko. The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Irina Volk, said that the suspect was detained in Tuapse in a rented apartment with the help of special forces.
According to the Telegram channel 112, we are talking about Sergey Denisenko, a native of the Sumy region, the former president of the Karate Federation of Ukraine. He is also a well-deserved trainer and master of sports, he has the seventh Dan and a black belt.
The motive is being investigated
The night before it became known that the body of 42-year-old Stanislav Rzhitsky with several gunshot wounds was found near Beregovaya Street in Krasnodar. Upon the death of the deputy head of the department for mobilization work of the mayor’s office of Krasnodar, a criminal case was opened on murder under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum penalty under this article is life imprisonment.
The circumstances of the case are being established. It is known that the killer followed Rzhitsky for a long time: he knew all his routes and specially chose a place for the attack away from CCTV cameras. The murder happened at about 8 am local time while the ex-commander of the submarine was jogging in the Zaton park near the Olimp sports complex. The killer shot Rzhitsky four times in the back and chest. Rzhitsky died on the spot. The motive for the crime is still unknown.
Including the investigators are checking the version about the Ukrainian trace in the murder of Rzhitsky. The Ukrainian media accused the deceased of involvement in the launch of Kalibr missiles at facilities in Ukraine.
Involvement in the SVO
Since July 2022, Rzhitsky has been at the Myrotvorets base as a “direct participant” in the special military operation in Ukraine. Currently, in this database, his photograph has the status “liquidated”.
The father of the deceased told the Baza Telegram channel that Rzhitsky did not take part in the special military operation in Ukraine. He left the Russian Armed Forces in August 2022. A few months later he got a job in the mobilization department of the administration of Krasnodar.
Rzhitsky served as a captain of the 2nd rank in the Black Sea Fleet. Before working in the administration of Krasnodar, he commanded the B-265 Krasnodar submarine, with which he participated in hostilities against the Islamic State (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation).
