Tokyo, August 15 On the 15th, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, in the name of “Liberal Democratic Party President”, offered “jade skewers” (sacrificial fees) to the Yasukuni Shrine, which houses Class-A war criminals of World War II. ).

This August 15th marks the 77th anniversary of Japan’s defeat in the war. On the morning of the same day, Sanae Takaichi, Minister in Charge of Japan’s Economic Security, Kenya Akiba, Minister of Reconstruction, and Koichi Hagiuda, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, visited the Yasukuni Shrine. In addition, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yasunori Nishimura also visited the Yasukuni Shrine on the 13th.

Yasukuni Shrine is located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. The shrine houses 14 Class A war criminals of World War II, including Hideki Tojo. For a long time, some Japanese politicians and members of Congress have insisted on visiting the Yasukuni Shrine, which has been strongly opposed by many peace-loving people in Japan and the international community, and has also led to tensions between Japan and China, South Korea and other Asian countries.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Japan said on the 15th that the Yasukuni Shrine is an important symbol of the war of aggression launched by Japanese militarism. Japan’s negative move on the Yasukuni Shrine issue concerns international justice and historical justice, as well as the dignity and feelings of the people of the victimized Asian countries. The Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this wrong move, and has lodged solemn representations with the Japanese side.
