The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that, together with the Akhmat special forces units, he was ready to replace the Wagner PMC and its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin in Artemovsk, who had previously said that his fighters would leave the city on May 10 due to lack of ammunition.
“If older brother Prigozhin and Wagner leave, then the General Staff will lose an experienced combat unit, and younger brother Kadyrov and Akhmat will take its place in Artemovsk. If the scenario is still like this, then our fighters are ready to advance and occupy the city. It’s a matter of a few hours,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
In his message, he turned to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and Prigozhin himself. Kadyrov stressed that he was unpleasant to hear the latest statements of the founder of Wagner PMC.
“And it is doubly unpleasant that the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense does not comment or does not meet with the leadership of the Wagner PMC to make any decision or clarification. After all, Prigozhin deserves respect for the invaluable contribution of the Wagnerites to the liberation of the cities of Donbass. If there is a shortage, then it is necessary to explain, show, on the basis of which the commanders will at least adjust the further tactics of the Wagner units, not relying on artillery, ”wrote the head of Chechnya.
According to him, when Chechen units took Mariupol last year, they also received less equipment and weapons from the Ministry of Defense than was necessary.
“When it took five tanks from the Ministry of Defense to support the infantry, we were able to allocate only one, the combat crew of which left the vehicle in the very first battle. The tankers then had to be calmed down, set up for battle and put back into the combat vehicle so that they covered at least one position of the Azov Satanists with volleys, ”Kadyrov said.
He also remembered that there were other problems with the equipment: for example, it was not possible to replace 30 artillery pieces. To resolve this issue, Kadyrov had to personally call Moscow. The problem was solved only after a month.
At the same time, Kadyrov drew attention to the inadmissibility of the methods used by Prigozhin to draw attention to the lack of shells by PMC Wagner.
“Removing the bodies of dead comrades for the sake of public outcry … is wrong. Let’s never do this,” the head of Chechnya asked.
According to him, the commander of the Akhmat special forces, Apty Alaudinov, also faces daily supply problems in the special operation zone.
“But not once did Apty Aronovich declare this publicly via the Internet, but only through internal communication with the leadership. I note that the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, with rare exceptions, have always met the Chechen units and helped. And misunderstandings are always present in ordinary civilian life, not to mention a war where there is ALWAYS not enough ammunition! ”Kadyrov added.
He expressed the hope that the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff would sort out the issue of supplying ammunition to the Wagner PMC in Artemovsk, calling it the only soldierly correct way out of the situation.
“Chechen units fought side by side with the Wagnerites in the most difficult areas in Popasnaya, Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and other settlements of Donbass. Together they performed a sacred duty to the Motherland without division into nationalities or faith. The interests of the state and the security of the country must come first. And when the SVO ends, I would like all of us to be winners, every fighter, every commander, every Russian patriot. Together,” Kadyrov summed up.
On the night of May 5, Prigozhin’s press service published a video where the founder of the PMC, against the backdrop of the bodies of dead soldiers, sharply demands that the Russian military leadership ensure the supply of ammunition, due to the lack of which dozens of soldiers die every day in Artemovsk.
Later on Friday, Prigozhin published another video, where, together with the Wagnerites, he said that the PMC leadership had decided to leave Artemovsk on May 10 if the supply situation did not change. The positions occupied will be transferred to units of the RF Ministry of Defense.
The entrepreneur noted that only 2.5 sq. km of the city. And the deficit of shells in PMC “Wagner” is 90%.
