The product deal must be implemented in full — such a conclusion was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Secretary General of the organization António Guterres following a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. This was announced on Thursday, September 22, by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“The implementation of the Istanbul agreements on the export of Ukrainian food from the Black Sea ports and the unhindered export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers was discussed in detail. The parties confirmed the need to ensure their package nature and full implementation, ”the message published in the Russia/23160″>Telegram channel of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

The parties also considered a wide range of issues on Russia‘s interaction with the UN, discussed specific initiatives to improve the efficiency of its work, the Foreign Ministry added.

Earlier, on September 21, Secretary of State USA Anthony Blinken at the food security summit of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly said that the deal on the supply of Ukrainian grain, which expires in November, should be extended.

In particular, at the end of August, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the geography of the movement of ships that departed from the Black Sea ports of Ukraine does not correspond to the tasks of the UN in helping countries in Asia and Africa. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also agreed that Ukrainian grain is sent not to the poorest countries, but to the territory of the European Union. the parties to transfer free of charge to developing countries fertilizers from the Russian Federation, which are stuck in European ports. He stressed that the desire to prevent Russian companies from earning is understandable, but there is no answer to the initiative of free transfer of fertilizers to poor countries.

The food deal was concluded on July 22 in Istanbul. Then Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and UN Secretary General António Guterres signed a memorandum on facilitating the supply of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to world markets. At the same time, the Ukrainian delegation signed an agreement with Turkey and the UN on the export of grain.
