    Published on

Deputies of the Assembly (parliament) of Montenegro passed a vote of no confidence in the government of the republic, headed by Prime Minister Dritan Abazovich. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

50 deputies voted for no confidence in the 43rd government of Montenegro, one parliamentarian abstained.

The vote was preceded by a 12-hour session dedicated to discussing the government’s successes and failures. The deputies accused Abazovich of the fact that his team did not fulfill its obligations to approach EU membership in 100 days.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Western states are trying to make Montenegro and Northern Macedonian tools in the anti-Russian game. The diplomat compared the Western policy towards Montenegro and North Macedonia with the policy in Ukraine. Lavrov recalled that for many years the West has fueled Russophobic sentiments in Ukraine and in a number of other Eastern European countries.
