Parts flew off // Rostransnadzor counted 2 thousand flights in 2022 with expired spare parts

    Published on

According to Rostransnadzor, due to sanctions, 2,000 flights in 2022 were made on Western aircraft equipped with expired spare parts. This was stated by the head of the service, Viktor Basargin, at the State Duma Committee on Transport, without specifying whether it was only about mainline aviation. The interlocutors of Kommersant in the largest airlines assure that, unlike small aircraft, this does not happen with them: it is possible to park aircraft in anticipation of the supply of components. Experts also believe that the situation with maintaining the airworthiness of Western liners will be aggravated and threaten with a shortage of the fleet.
