On July 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that over the next five years, the cargo turnover of the port in Murmansk could be doubled due to the implementation of promising projects, including the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

As Putin noted, 56 million tons of cargo were handled in the port last year alone. Provided that such projects as the Novatek plant are implemented, in 5-6 years “there will be at least a doubling of opportunities,” the president added.
