The buildup of US, Japanese and South Korean military activity around North Korea only delays a possible dialogue with Pyongyang. This was pointed out at a meeting of the UN Security Council by Russian Deputy Representative to the organization Anna Evstigneeva, RIA Novosti reports.
She stressed that the military activity of the United States and allies is contrary to the task of de-escalating tensions in the region, especially given the publicly broadcast position of Pyongyang. The diplomat said that the UN Security Council has no right to ignore this factor. Earlier, Anna Evstigneeva called the provocative military activity of the United States the reason for new missile launches by the DPRK. In addition, she drew attention to the fact that Washington’s activity hits both its partners in the region and the situation in Northeast Asia as a whole.
