Australian police have identified a serial rapist who has been operating in the suburbs of Sydney for 16 years. This reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
The criminal, nicknamed “The Beast from Bondi”, managed to escape punishment for 37 years. He is suspected of committing at least 31 rapes between 1985 and 2001. The youngest victim at the time of the attack was 13 years old, but a 55-year-old woman was also among the victims. The perpetrator repeatedly raped women playing sports in the parks, but sometimes entered homes and attacked sleeping people. . Seven more DNA samples from the same man were later found linking him to other rapes. It took many years to find out who they belonged to.
The rapist turned out to be 66-year-old Keith Simms, who lived in the suburbs of Sydney. Relatives describe him as a loving husband and father and claim they knew nothing about his double life. Simms died in February 2022, six months before DNA identification.
It was previously reported that a couple from the US state of Missouri killed a pregnant woman in order to kidnap an unborn child. The victim was kidnapped under the pretext of getting a job.
