The leader of the conservative People’s Party, which won early general elections in Spain on Sunday, Alberto Nunez Feijoo said he was ready to try to create a government. This was reported on July 23 by 20minutos.

“I am taking the initiative to start a dialogue in order to form a government,” he said, urging other political forces not to block this initiative.

He called his request legitimate and expressed the hope that all political forces would bear responsibility for this. They put to shame: will there be an ultra-right government in Spain And why voters are not eager to take part in parliamentary elections

In Spain, on July 23, voting took place in the elections to the Cortes General (bicameral parliament). The sites opened at 9:00 local time (10:00 Moscow time) and continued to work until 20:00 (21:00 Moscow time). The turnout in the elections as of 18:30 (19:30 Moscow time) was 53.12%, according to the official website for monitoring the results. According to the results of the elections, 350 members of the Congress of Deputies for four years and 208 senators will be elected. In the country, legislative power is exercised by Cortes Generales elected for a period of four years, consisting of the Senate (upper house) and the Congress of Deputies (lower house).

On July 12, it became known that the opposition People’s Party, led by Alberto Nunez Feijoo, is leading in the ratings over the so far ruling socialists of Sanchez. However, according to a senior researcher at the Department of European Political Studies, IMEMO. EAT. Primakov RAS Ekaterina Cherkasova, even with a majority of votes, the party will be doomed to a coalition with the far-right Vox party. And such a prospect, according to the survey, scares 60% of Spaniards.Share:
