Compared to laminate flooring, parquet is considered more durable and can be restored in case of damage. The advantage of one flooring over another in a conversation with NEWS.ru was named by construction expert Fedor Vasiliev.

According to the expert, paper with a pattern covered with a protective film is considered laminate, and the top layer of parquet is natural sawn wood. In case of damage, the second can be re-varnished and the color restored. “In the case of damage, swelling, fading of the color of the laminate, there is only one way out – to replace the laminate,” Vasiliev specified. Vasiliev noted that over time, the protective layer of the laminate can wear out if moisture gets into the seams. Also, if you use a cheap underlay, then walking on such a floor will make a lot of noise. “Even if someone walks on such a floor in hard-soled slippers or ordinary flip flops, it will feel like a herd of horses is galloping,” Vasiliev said. Earlier, the brand manager of the design company Estima, Elizaveta Rodionova, suggested a budget alternative to expensive parquet – it can be replaced with vinyl laminate. According to the specialist, he is not afraid of moisture and serves for a long time.
