The Tenth Arbitration Court of Appeal upheld the decision to recover from Ikea Dom LLC, which is the legal entity of IKEA in Russia, 176.6 million rubles in favor of Mediamaker for refusing to advertise on television under an annual contract. This is reported by Vedomosti.

In the complaint, the defendant pointed to the incorrect calculation of the penalty for canceling the transaction under the contract. It is noted that this is the largest lawsuit against IKEA and the only one of the proceedings in which the court did not reduce the compensation to the plaintiff. The Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region ruled in favor of Mediamaker on February 15, 2023. The resolution notes that the company did not compensate the counterparty for the costs associated with the cancellation of the advertising campaign on television and did not pay the agency fee. In July 2022, it was reported that IKEA in Russia was facing a lawsuit due to violation of the rights of buyers, the Public Consumer Initiative (OPI) announced a lawsuit against the company demanding to partially resume imports and production.
