Pavel Knyazev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sous-Sherpa of Russia to the BRICS, said that the BRICS countries are well aware of the lack of sense in any discussions on the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine without the participation of Moscow, RIA Novosti reports.
He recalled that on June 25, a meeting of national security advisers, as well as political advisers from Western states, was held in Copenhagen, noting that the topic of resolving the situation in Ukraine was discussed at it. The diplomat called it an attempt to advance the ultimatums offered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as the lines of Kyiv’s allies.“Everyone, including our BRICS partners, understands the futility of such a discussion of the situation in Ukraine or a settlement between Ukraine and Russia without Russia,” Knyazev added. Earlier, the leaders of the EU countries announced their intention to seek international support for the key principles and goals of the so-called peace formula of Vladimir Zelensky. As specified in the document, earlier in the EU institutions they repeatedly spoke about the full and unconditional support of the entire Ukrainian initiative. Other peace initiatives were also suggested at the summit.
