In Yaroslavl, the court will consider the case against Vitaly Molchanov about the murder and rape of two underage sisters in Rybinsk. This was reported to Lente.ru on Tuesday, October 4, by the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).

Molchanov was accused of a number of articles, including desecration of the bodies of the dead, attempted rape of under the age of fourteen and the murder of two minors.

Earlier, the court recognized the Rybinsk maniac as sane. He passed two examinations in Kostroma and the Moscow Serbsky Institute, which established his insanity, after which the specialists from the Sverdlovsk region, who conducted the third examination, declared the defendant to be completely responsible. The defense sought compulsory treatment for the man, however, after the last examination, the Yaroslavl Regional Court returned the case to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.

The crime became known on September 15, 2020. The girls’ mother met Molchanov on the Internet and moved to him from another city about a month ago with her 8-year-old and 13-year-old daughters. Returning from work after a night shift, she found the girls dead. There were multiple stab wounds on the bodies of schoolgirls. Investigators found that the girls had been sexually abused.

The main suspect was 40-year-old Molchanov, who was detained on September 18. The Russian confessed to the murder.

Later it became known that in September 2009, a man who lived in Yekaterinburg at that time stabbed and dismembered his 35-year-old friend, and also tried to rape her neighbor. In July 2010, he was sentenced to 11 years in prison in a strict regime colony.
