The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia showed a video of the detention of the digital director of a Russian PR agency for extortion in the Telegram messenger. The video on Wednesday, May 17, is published by the department in its Telegram channel.

The footage shows how law enforcement officers lead a man in handcuffs to an apartment, where they inspect the workplace in his presence. During the searches, a cryptocurrency wallet, money, phones, tablets, SIM cards, including foreign telecom operators, were found. According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, a group of attackers created a network of Telegram channels that talked about the socio-political agenda in different Russian regions. The materials contained unreliable information discrediting the regional authorities and big businessmen. The authors of the channels extorted money for the installation of blocks on the negative.
