The syndrome of vertebrobasilar insufficiency, which was previously diagnosed in the Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Vdovichenkov, can lead to a stroke, explained neurologist Maria Medvedeva. She expressed her opinion during a conversation with Channel Five.
According to Medvedeva, to provoke a dangerous illness in the star of the “Brigade”, which has long been reputation as a workaholic, could have been ordinary fatigue due to frequent overtime. Additional risk factors for its development are elevated blood cholesterol, hypertension and tachycardia. Among the first signs of vertebrobasilar insufficiency , she singled out dizziness and headaches, nausea, and unsteady gait.
The neurologist believes that Vdovichenkov vainly refused hospitalization and examination: the disease should not be allowed to take its course, as this can lead to serious complications. “If we take the worst options, then this is the development of cerebrovascular accident, which we know as a stroke,” commented Medvedeva. She added that stroke is getting younger every year and is increasingly common in men in their prime.
It was previously reported that Vladimir Vdovichenkov suffered from headaches and nausea for several days. The wife of the actor Elena Lyadova called an ambulance. Arriving doctors made a preliminary diagnosis – vertebrobasilar insufficiency.
