Tensions between Russia and NATO will begin to decrease after the North Atlantic Alliance shows a desire to hear Moscow’s arguments on national security issues. This was announced on Sunday, August 21, by Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Federation Council (SF).

He stressed that Russia had warned NATO countless times about the need to stop borders of the Russian Federation.

“We will do everything to ensure our security. At the same time, as soon as you show a desire to hear our arguments on Russian security issues, I think tensions in Russia-NATO relations will begin to decrease, ”the politician wrote in his Telegram channel is a signal to NATO about Moscow’s readiness to cover the allies. According to her, with missile systems, Belarus will be able to better deter the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance. Such a transfer would be beneficial to both Moscow and Minsk.

Before that, on August 16, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the military activities of NATO member countries had taken the form of an absolutely anti-Russian orientation. He stressed that significant forces from the United States have already been deployed to the continent, and the number of coalition troops in Eastern and Central Europe has increased significantly.

On the same day, Putin announced that the collective West is purposefully destroying the system of European security. The Russian leader pointed out that NATO is now moving east, building up its military infrastructure there, deploying missile defense systems and increasing the strike capabilities of offensive forces. He added that the alliance needs conflicts to maintain hegemony.

At the same time, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on August 10 that NATO does not seek confrontation with Russia and does not pose a threat to the country.

On the eve of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed regret over the termination of cooperation with Russia. He added that NATO is ready to open channels of communication with Moscow to “manage and mitigate risks, prevent escalation and increase transparency.” However, according to him, a change in relations could occur if Russia ceases hostilities.

Earlier, on June 24, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the countries of Europe and NATO are uniting to wars with Russia. He stressed that Moscow will follow the steps that Brussels, as well as Kyiv and Chisinau, will take after they are granted candidate status for EU membership.

Russia has repeatedly noted that NATO aims to a confrontation. Thus, the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, stated that further expansion of the alliance would not bring greater security to Europe, NATO has an aggressive character.
