The column of the private military company (PMC) “Wagner” left Rostov-on-Don and headed to their field camps. This was announced by the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev in his Telegram.
“I am grateful to everyone who, in these extraordinary conditions, ensured the coordinated work of life support systems in the Don capital and throughout the Rostov region,” Golubev added. The fact that the Wagner fighters in full force left the headquarters of the Southern Military District (SMD) in Rostov-on-Don was previously reported. Together with them, the head of the PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, also left. According to the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, the criminal case on the armed rebellion against Prigozhin will be dropped, the head of the PMC himself will leave for Belarus. On the evening of June 23, Prigozhin accused the Russian military of allegedly attacking the rear camps of the Wagner PMC. After that, he threatened to use force and destroy everyone who would block the way for the fighters of the group. Later, the FSB opened a case against Prigozhin for organizing an armed rebellion. Later, Wagner fighters appeared in Rostov-on-Don, and a convoy with their equipment was also noticed on the highway on the way to Moscow. A counter-terrorist operation regime has been declared in a number of regions.
