Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) opened a criminal case on the encroachment on the life of Cornet. According to the investigation, on May 15, at about 13:50 local time, an explosive device went off in a barbershop on Demekhina Street in Luhansk. As a result, Cornet and six other people were injured, one died. Police Major General Kornet has been in charge of the LPR Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2014. After joining Russia, he became Acting Minister. Retired Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic (NM LPR) Andrei Marochko called the explosion a terrorist act.
