The man decided to save his bedridden wife from torment and killed her

    Published on

A 60-year-old resident of the Indian city of Bangalore named Shankarappa decided to save his paralyzed wife Shivamma from torment and killed her. This reports The Times of India.

50-year-old Shivamma was bedridden for two years. She lived in a house under construction with her husband, son, daughter and son-in-law. Due to illness, the woman weighed about 20 kilograms and was completely dependent on her relatives.

On Sunday, December 4, Shankarappa waited until the relatives left, took his wife to the flooded basement of the house and threw it into the water. Soon the 11-year-old son of the spouses returned home. He noticed his father coming out of the basement and asked where Shivamma was. The man replied that he did not know where she had gone. Suspecting something was wrong, the boy went down to the basement and found his mother struggling to stay on the surface of the water. He called the neighbors, and they rushed to help. Together they managed to get the woman out of the water, but she was already dead.

The next day, the police arrested Shankarappa. He confessed to the murder. The man said he killed his wife because he wanted to put her out of her misery.

It was previously reported that a man in Japan decided to get rid of his 79-year-old disabled wife and drowned her. The man was arrested and admitted his guilt, explaining his act by saying that he was “tired of taking care of his disabled wife for 40 years.”
