    The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the export of more than 563 thousand tons of agricultural products from the ports of Ukraine

    Since August 1, 21 ships have taken out more than 563 thousand tons of agricultural products from the ports of Ukraine, said on August 17 the head of the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters of the Russian Federation for Humanitarian Response, the head of the National Center for Defense Control of the Russian Federation, General -Colonel Mikhail Mizintsev.

    “As part of the implementation of the “Initiative of Mutual Understanding for the Safe Transportation of Grain from the Ports of Ukraine”, 21 ships left Ukrainian ports since August 1, 2022,” he said .

    According to Mizintsev, 451,481 tons of corn, 50,301 tons of flour, 11,000 tons of soybeans, 6,000 tons of sunflower oil, 41,622 tons of wheat, 2,914 tons of

    He clarified that the Russian Armed Forces have created the necessary conditions for the operation of two maritime humanitarian corridors: in the Black Sea (to exit the ports of Kherson, Nikolaev, Chernomorsk, Ochakov, Odessa and South) and in the Sea of ​​Azov (to leave the port of Mariupol).

    Earlier that day, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported that three more ships departed from the ports of Chornomorsk and Odessa, on board of which there are more than 33 thousand tons of agricultural products.

    A joint coordinating center on the grain issue began to work in Istanbul on July 26.

    Before that, On July 22, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and United Nations (UN) Secretary General António Guterres signed a memorandum on facilitating the supply of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to world markets. As Shoigu clarified, the document involves the involvement of the UN in the removal of export restrictions. At the same time, the Ukrainian delegation signed an agreement with Turkey and the UN on the export of grain. Its validity period is 120 days with the possibility of extension.

    At the end of June, Russian leader Vladimir Putin stressed that the Russian Federation does not interfere with the export of Ukrainian grain, Kyiv itself mined its own ports.

    Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna, on August 17 drew attention to the fact that ships with grain from the Black Sea ports controlled by Kyiv are sent to those countries that are not at all threatened with starvation.
