The 22nd International Music Festival “Bach Service” has started in Kaliningrad. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Kaliningrad region.
The festival will last until July 28, it will be attended by musicians from Russia, Japan, Italy: Hiroko Inoue, Sergey Kolesov, Dmitry Ushakov, Lyubov Stuchevskaya, as well as musicians and soloists of the regional philharmonic. The first guest of the festival was the Academic Large Choir of the Master of Choral Singing of the radio “Ofey” under the direction of the People’s Artist of Russia Lev Kontorovich. In the first part of the concert, in the unique acoustics of the hall of the historical building of the Philharmonic “a cappella”, the most famous spiritual works of Bach were performed: the motets “Jesus, my joy”, “Praise the Lord, all nations.” The soloists also sang Ave Maria, but for this they settled not only on the stage, but also went down to the auditorium. Together with the Academic Large Choir, the soloists of the Kaliningrad Regional Philharmonic Society also performed instrumental parts.The Bach Service will end with the Worshiping Bach gala concert with the participation of musicians and soloists of the Kaliningrad Philharmonic, as well as special guests. Earlier it was reported that for the first time Yekaterinburg will host the Kinoteatrum festival dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the city. The event will take place from 12 to 19 August. It will consist of three parts devoted to theater, music and cinema.
