The number of Ukrainians wishing to work in Europe hit a record in August

    Published on

The number of Ukrainians wishing to work in Europe reached a record high in August, according to the data of the Lviv Consulting Group.

As of August, 25% more requests from job applicants were accepted than in January 2022.

As noted, it is becoming more and more difficult to find a job in Ukraine, the hryvnia is depreciating, prices are rising in stores, in connection with which Ukrainians began to massively look for work abroad. The head of the All-Ukrainian Association of International Employment Agencies Vasily Voskoboinik noted that both “migrant workers” who worked there before, but since February, for one reason or another, ended up in Ukraine, and “newcomers”, that is, those who are abroad, were drawn to Europe never worked.

At the same time, both women and men go to work, crossing the border according to various schemes and often leaving their children at home. This also applies to residents of relatively calm regions of Ukraine.

It is noted that the number of foreign vacancies has also increased on Ukrainian employment resources. For example, in Poland, salaries for Ukrainian male workers have increased – previously they were offered 14-16 zlotys per hour, now they are up to 18-20 zlotys, Voskoboinik said.
