The Pentagon is taking into account the experience of military operations in Ukraine and is preparing the US military for the fact that in future conflicts, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are likely to be used en masse, said the commander of the US Marine Corps, General David Berger, writes TASS .
At a meeting with the Washington-based Defense Writers Group, he admitted that in any modern conflicts, both sides “will have a lot of small drones” . Berger explained that nuances have been added to the US Marines training program. “We need to learn how to operate freely in such conditions,” he urged to focus on drones.
The commander added that the US military is trained during the exercises to operate in the conditions of the use of drones. Berger believes drones will be used frequently in future wars. According to him, the American army has various systems and methods to counter small drones, but the technical means in this area are constantly being improved.
Earlier, the American company General Atomics presented the Gambit reconnaissance drone project. It can work together with manned aircraft.
