Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, in an interview with CNN, said that minefields pose the greatest difficulty during the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“Clearing the minefields is what is the most difficult for them,” he said. According to him, the Ukrainian army still has “large forces” at its disposal to continue the counteroffensive. Earlier, the director of operations of the Joint Staff of the Pentagon, General Douglas Sims, noted that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not proceeding at the speed that the United States would prefer. According to him, as part of the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian army has to fight “rather severe battles.”In turn, the NATO military emphasized that conducting a counteroffensive is a difficult task for Ukraine.
