Russian enterprises of the military-industrial complex (DIC) need more than 16,000 specialists to increase production capacity. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov, his words are quoted by TASS.

According to him, first of all, we are talking about working personnel, technical specialists and engineering personnel that are needed for deployed sites for the production of the most popular types of weapons and military equipment. Manturov stated the need for maximum assistance to the defense industry in fulfilling the tasks assigned to it, and above all it concerns the provision of labor resources. The vice-premier also asked the leadership of the regions to pay attention to the issue of personnel shortage. He urged to include in his solution not only employment services, but also “other enterprises that can help with human resources.” Manturov proposed to apply an integrated approach and work on attracting university graduates to defense enterprises. Earlier, a survey conducted by the Institute for Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INP RAS) showed a record shortage of labor resources since 2013. The share of enterprises experiencing a shortage of personnel has grown to 50 percent, while only 1.6 percent of respondents speak of an excess of workers. This state of affairs may prevent enterprises from investing in production, and in the fight against staff shortages, companies are reconsidering the requirements for the quantity and quality of work of HR department employees.
