The police refused to open a criminal case against Philip Kirkorov because of the dance on the cross

    Published on

Several months have passed since Philip Kirkorov’s performance on the cross, but human rights activists are still seeking punishment for the artist for insulting the feelings of believers. The press secretary of the Call of the People movement, Anton Yegovtsev, told Gazeta that the police refused to open a criminal case against Kirkorov “due to the absence of a crime event.” The organization’s application was submitted on August 15, and the district police officer signed the decision to refuse two days later.

—That is, in fact, despite the fact that tens of millions Philip Kirkorov’s blasphemous act, as well as the Muslims of Russia opposed this vile act, banning concerts in the Caucasus, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not see anything reprehensible in Kirkorov’s actions! This response, except as a spit in the face of Russian citizens and Kirkorov’s cover-up, cannot be assessed. ”

The organization announced plans to send an appeal against the police decision to the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, with a demand to re-check the resonant speech.

The document with the decision to refuse to initiate a criminal case was attached to the audit material on a similar application filed in early May by another group of citizens. Probably, this group included representatives of the Tsargrad human rights center. Boris Malyutkin, deputy head of the organization, told Gazeta that the police considered their application in May and also refused to open a criminal case.

    – said the representative of “Tsargrad”. Georgy Soldatov, coordinator of the legal wing of the organization, told Gazeta that the MIC (Moscow Research Center) is currently conducting an expert study of the incident. The end date of the examination is not yet known. Gazeta also did not provide this information.

From April 27 to 30, Kirkorov performed with the anniversary show “55. Gold. Golden Hits” at the State Kremlin Palace. As part of the number for the song “Mary Magdalena”, the artist climbed onto the scenery in the form of a large cross, which caused a great resonance among Orthodox people. After criticizing the Russian Orthodox Church, artists and public organizations, Kirkorov apologized to all those offended in social networks. He wrote on Instagram (the company that owns Meta is recognized as an extremist organization) that he did not want to offend anyone with his speech.

“I do not put any evil or blasphemous intent into directing the act. For me, as for a believer, religious shrines are extremely important and revered,” Kirkorov emphasized. “If I hurt anyone’s feelings, I offer my sincere apologies.”

He called the choreography of the number “a fantasy story.” According to Kirkorov, the idea was in no way connected with the goal of insulting Christianity or any other religion.
