The German national team will meet with the US team on May 27 at 18:20 Moscow time. The Latvian national team will play with Canada on the same day at 14:20. Earlier, the former coach of the Russian national team Vladimir Krikunov urged to support the US and Canadian teams at the World Cup. The specialist explained his words by the fact that Russian hockey players are not forbidden to play in these countries. The 2023 World Championship takes place in Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia, from May 12 to 28. Initially, the tournament was supposed to be hosted by St. Petersburg, but due to IIHF sanctions, the venue was moved, and the teams of Russia and Belarus missed the championship.
